Actually, you're wrong, there has to be some network setting near all the settings ( graphics, movement) but that setting is missing. So you start the game, you should have two options, single player (others may join) OR Joint a game.
Solution: re-install Windows 11 from scratch. Previously I had upgraded my Windows 10 installation, so probably some settings were messed up, maybe the video driver was also corrupted at some point (even if I had reinstalled it with the "Clean install" option). So all good with Win 11. #8.

I had this problem too, here is my solution: Go into User > Username > AppData > Roaming > HelloGames > NMS > st_numbers and delete everything EXCEPT your save games. I only had one save and it was called save.hg and save2.hg.
